GFC gu11u12s Impress in Winter Tournaments. Grasshopper FC mixed gu11u12 teams claimed 2nd place finishes in two recent winter indoor gu12 tournaments against some of the top clubs in the state. The players have demonstrated their development and have promoted the club with their impressive play and positive results.

Boston College 7v7 Tournament. The GFC u11u12 team won all 4 group stage matches, with convincing wins against Jr. Pioneers, FC United, Azzuri, and Barnstable. Play was impressive with great ball movement and attacking mentality from the entire team. The loss in the championship match against Scorpions was disappointing after all of the hard work leading up to the final. Nonetheless, the tournament was a step forward for the team and the club. We heard very flattering comments from quite a few people from other clubs about the mature and confident play of the GFC team.

Inter Bandits Futsal Tournament. Again, the GFC u11u12 team played their way into the championship match. This time group stage results included 2 convincing wins against South Shore Select, and Inter SC gu11s. The GFC team suffered a loss to Inter SC gu12s in a match in which the GFC team clearly demonstrated its maturity in the 5-aside format by taking an early lead and dominating possession throughout the match, only to come up one goal short at the end. The final against Aztec SC u12s was a quality match from both sides. The momentum of the match swung back and forth several times with GFC clearly dominating play at the end with an onslaught of pressure and several goals. But time ran out on the GFC team and the match ended with another 2nd place finish. Again, the positive, aggressive and creative play of the GFC team was complemented by many onlookers who were forced to take notice of the new club.
