GFC u11s Finish Successful Futsal Season with Championships! The GFC u11 Futsal teams finished their Futsal season on a positive note claiming tournament and league championships.

Futsal League. Two GFC u11 teams competed in the InSoccer Futsal League this winter. The GFC Borussia team finished the regular season with a 4-1-0 record and winning the u11 age group championship with a victory over the Newton Azzurri team. Over the course of the season the GFC Borussia team showed a lot of improvement in individual technical skills and tactical concepts. Emphasizing on supporting the player with the ball and direct combination play the team outscored their opponents 29-12.

GFC Fortuna played in a mixed bracket with U11-u14 teams demanding a faster game speed and more physical play. The u11's finished with a 2-2-1 even record and claimed a 3rd pace in the playoffs. Overall the Fortuna team was able to compete with all teams in this bracket and was complemented by many supporters for their mature and technically sound play.

2008 Regional Futsal Tournament. A selection of u11 girls were competing in the 2008 Regional Futsal Tournament in the u11/u12 age group. After finishing 2nd in the regular group matches, the u11's surprised the favored GFC u12 team with aggressive play, consequent finishes, solid defense and amazing saves in goal to claim the 2008 Regional championship trophy. Throughout the tournament the u11's impressed with tactical discipline and technical finesse. This championship was the result of a true team effort and further promoted the youth soccer development at Grasshopper FC.
