GFC Teams with Impressive Results in Futsal. The GFC teams, boys and girls u9-u14, made a terrific showing in the recent futsal season, both in league and tournament play. The club stands out as having well-organized teams, all playing under a unified system of play for futsal. Not only do the GFC system and philosophy serve the players developmentally, but they translate into favorable results as well.

GFC Teams Plan Vancouver Trip for Aug 2010. GFC has planned another international soccer visit for summer 2010. The club will travel August 6-15 with several boys and girls teams to Vancouver, Canada. Some spaces are available for guest players from other clubs. Please contact us for more information.

GFC u9u10 Teams Demonstrate High Quality Soccer at Columbus Day Tournament. The Grasshopper Football Club u9u10 teams demonstrated over the weekend the brand of high quality developmental soccer for which the club is known. In addition to the Academy program, which offers a variety of year-round training options for u7-u10 boys and girls, GFC offers a Teams program for u9u10 boys and girls which includes specific weekly team training as well as Sunday 6v6 league matches. Both the boys u10 and girls u10 teams participated in the Sanford Soccer Columbus Day Tournament this past weekend in Sanford, ME.

GFC gu13s Win Labor Day Tournament. The Grasshopper FC GU13 team started its first season playing 11v11 with a championship at the 2009 Bandits Cup. The GU13 girls spend the last two years focusing on player and skills development playing an age appropriate format of 8v8 soccer. Now, after some transitioning to the new 11v11 format the girls were looking forward to start a new phase in their soccer life and last weekend the GFC GU13 team participated in the 2009 Bandits Cup in Devens as their fall season opening event.

GFC Players Return from Spain. Ten players from the Grasshopper Football Club gu12 and gu13 teams returned today from Spain. The girls enjoyed a 10 day/8 night soccer tour organized by GFC Director, Tom Mitch. The group included the ten GFC players, combined with players from Massachusetts, Nevada and Idaho. The group was accompanied by GFC trainers Tom Mitch and Michael Eidmann, and a group of parent supporters.

GFC Tryout & Open House Scheduled for June 9, 11, 18. GFC will conduct Team Tryouts for rising u11-u14 boys & girls, and an Open House Clinic for rising u7-u10 boys & girls. Both events will be held at Dilboy Stadium in Somerville (6:00-7:45pm).

GFC Speed & Agility Spring Training Program. The GFC Speed & Agility spring program offers age-appropriate strength, stabilization and coordination training for and u9u10 boys/girls, and u11-u14 boys/girls. Non-GFC members are permitted to enroll. Rolling admission for late-comers is allowed. The spring program is paired with Guided Street Soccer immediately following the Speed/Agility session.

GFC Academy 3v3 Jamboree Scheduled for Sunday, May 3. The event will take place on Sun, May 3 at Belmont Hill School. The jamboree is open to boys and girls ages 6-10. We offer team and individual registration.

GFC Announces Development Teams for u11-u14 Boys & Girls. GFC has announced plans to offer a 'Development Teams' program beginning Spring 2009. GFC has always offered a 'training only' option for players who are arriving to the club developmentally below the level of our premier teams. Now GFC will provide development players not only a high quality training program, but also the opportunity to test what they have learned in league and tournament matches.

GFC Girls Teams Plan Spain Trip for July 2009. GFC has planned another soccer visit to Europe for summer 2009. The club has entered 2 teams (gu11u12, and gu13u14) in the Donosti Cup, an international tournament which takes place each July in San Sebastián, Spain. Some roster openings in both teams exist for guest players from other clubs. Please contact us for more information.

GFC Gu12u13s Return from Germany. Seven players from the Grasshopper Football Club rising gu12 and rising gu13 teams returned today from Germany. The girls, Emma, Lea, Nina, Antonia, Brienne, Jamie and Maddie participated in a 10 day/8 night soccer tour organized by GFC Director, Tom Mitch. The group included the seven players as well as GFC trainers Tom Mitch and Michael Eidmann, and a group of parent supporters. Based in Oberbayern (Upper Bavarian), the group spent time in Munich and the surrounding area, including several days in the picturesque town of Erding.

GFC gu12s Lift Labor Day Trophy. Three teams from Grasshopper Football Club competed in the gu12 division of this weekend's Berkshire Kick-Off Classic. With a tournament record of 5 wins and 1 loss, the GFC Black team became tournament champions and lifted the new club's first trophy!

GFC gu11/12s Compete in 3v3 Tournament. Four teams of 4 players each from the GFC gu11 and gu12 teams competed today in Winchester in the Love to ComPete 3v3 Tournament to benefit the Peter French Memorial Foundation. The tournament was a great pre-season warm-up for the GFC players.

GFC Players Return from Iceland. Three players from the Grasshopper Football Club rising-gu12 team returned today from Iceland. The girls, Nina, Emma and Lea, participated in a 10-day/8-night soccer tour organized by GFC director, Tom Mitch. The travel party included 8 players from the Boston area, as well as a group of 14 supporters. Based in Reykjavík, Iceland's capital city, the group participated in a variety of soccer and touristic activities.

GFC Academy Summer Program Starts. The Grasshopper Football Club Academy summer program began today at Mullen Field in Winchester. Trainers André Pelletier and Tom Mitch ran two 1.5 hour sessions, each with about 20 players in attendance. The GFC Academy program is an age-appropriate developmental soccer program for boys and girls u7-u10. The program includes Training Sessions, and Guided Street Soccer, as well as Competitive Matches starting with the u9/u10 age group.
