Grasshopper Football Club (GFC) is private soccer organization dedicated to youth player development for players age 6 and above. Through development models that are both intelligent and progressive, GFC offers opportunities for players aspiring to higher levels of play to reach their soccer potential.

GFC Academy (u7u8, u9u10)

GFC Academy, a weekly advanced training program for u7-u10 boys & girls, offers a head start for players with potential interest in playing soccer at the premier level. Our Goal is TRUE COMPETENCY in the Fundamentals by age 10. The Academy Director is Tom Mitch. Coach Mitch is a licensed national premier level coach, with coaching experience at the recreational, premier club, ODP, high school and college levels. Coach Mitch also has first hand exposure to various youth and professional training programs in Europe.

u9u10 Teams

GFC offers a teams program for u9u10 boys and u9u10 girls. This is perhaps GFC's most important program, offering a rare chance for young players to play age-appropriate 6v6 soccer in a culture which encourages multi-directional play and the involvement of all players both in and out of possession of the ball. The emphasis of this program is in firmly planting the seeds for the development of players who can play purposeful, deliberate, thoughtful soccer. The teams of the u9u10 program train 1 time per week and compete in 1 match each weekend. Additional optional training opportunities exist for those looking for a more complete experience at this age as well, such as goalkeeper & striker training, speed/agility training, and additional skill training.

Premier Teams (u11+)

GFC offers boys and girls u11 and older opportunities to receive consistent training from professional coaches as well as the chance to compete in the state-wide premier leagues and high level tournaments. The Premier Teams program offers 2 training sessions per week with weekend matches. The Premier Teams also compete in 4 or more premier tournaments each year. In addition to the core program, GFC teams will provide a variety of additional optional activities, including guided pick-up games, goalkeeper training, speed/coordination/agility training, as well as other functional training opportunities.

Player Development Teams (u11+)

GFC also offers specialized development opportunities for players u11 and older who would like to participate in our teams programs but who are developmentally below the level of our premier teams. The Player Development Teams program aims to aggressively raise the technical ability and level of soccer understanding of the players involved through consistent exposure to competent trainers in a competitive environment. Players in our development program will participate in same base program and optional activities as our premier teams, including bi-weekly training, Sunday matches and various tournaments.
